WWAV Receives Grant from the Elton John Foundation to Support LGBTQ Advocacy

Since our inception 25 years ago, Women With a Vision, Inc. has been dedicated to improving the health and well-being of lesbians and other members of the LGBTQ community through health education, advocacy, support, and access to care. Over the years our work has evolved to take on policy-level issues impacting LGBTQ communities across the South.
c6-25-06cagWWAV is excited to announce that we were rewarded a regional grant from the Elton John AIDS Foundation to support our new initiative — The Black LGBTQ Action Coalition (BLAC) — that will work to support Black LGBTQ advocacy in Mississippi and Louisiana.
WWAV is partnering with our ally Mississippi In Action out of Jackson, MS. to organize Black LGBTQ people throughout Louisiana and Mississippi and to support those individuals in advocating for HIV/AIDS awareness and accessible healthcare, civil rights, and against health disparities affecting African-Americans and LGBTQ people in the Southern U.S.
