Wendi Cooper is the Community Navigator for WWAV's New Domestic Violence Program!

This Fall, WWAV announced that we will be launching a new program on domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking for African American women and LBTQ women in New Orleans, with the support of the Office on Violence Against Women.
We are THRILLED to announce that WWAV’s longtime volunteer and family member, Wendi Cooper, will be joining the program team as our Community Navigator for the transgender community.

Miss Wendi is a transgendered woman from the New Orleans region.  She holds a Bachelor of Science from Southern University at New Orleans and is in the process of applying to law schools.  Through her deep connections in the transgendered community, Miss Wendi found out about WWAV and has become a close member of our family.  As a Community Navigator for the Domestic Violence Program, her goals are to help troubled women and transgender women to overcome their fears as they access sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking services.
Please join us in extending a big congrats and welcome to Miss Wendi!!!
