Timothy Craft Joins the WWAV Team as our Community Organizing Intern

TCraftpic(1)
For the 2013-2014 academic year, WWAV is thrilled to have Timothy Craft from Tulane University’s School of Social Work joining our team.  As our community organizing intern, Tim will be furthering WWAV’s ongoing commitment to challenge criminalization by supporting the communities most affected in working together to realize the harm reduction and drug policy changes that they feel will promote their own health and wellbeing.
Tim  is a recent transplant to the city of New Orleans. He comes here to complete his Masters in Social Work at Tulane University. As a part of his program he is completing a field placement internship with us at Women With a Vision.
As a budding social worker, Tim is dedicated to the value of Social Justice, something that is often not the primary focus of his chosen field. He is extremely excited to be doing work that truly matters at WWAV. The grassroots, community driven and community focused approach to advocacy and creating change is what drew him to WWAV, and he hopes that he can be a vital part of our process. Tim’s goals as a future social worker are to look outside of his own identities, and use his degree and unearned privileges to educated about and advocate for social justice and human rights.
Please join us in welcoming Tim to the WWAV family!!
