This is our working timeline regarding abortion access in Louisiana. It is in no way comprehensive, but we appreciate any readers’ help in making it so. It is meant to be a tool of education for those who are unaware of the effects of anti-abortion laws and the ways that Louisiana activists have been active in reproductive rights since before Roe v. Wade. Moreover, we want it to be known that black women have long been active in pushing back against unjust laws especially given that many of these laws are yet another mechanism for policing black women’s bodies. This timeline reflects this truth.
