National Women’s Health Week begins on Mother’s Day each year. This week, May 11 through May 17, individuals, families, communities, and others across the United States will work toward supporting women as they work toward leading healthier and safer lives.
Women With a Vision will post a series of informational posts about the health of women in our community here on our website. Stay tuned for that, but also take this week to start a new healthy tradition — take a walk through City Park with a loved one, check your blood pressure at the local pharmacy, drink more water, or make an appointment to visit a health care provider to receive a checkup and preventative screening.
And make sure to pay attention to your mental health as well, including getting enough sleep and managing stress. And don’t forget to talk to your mothers, daughters, and granddaughters about their awareness of health issues important to women.
