August 31st International Overdose Awareness Day – Save the Date!

It’s Labor Day weekend.
It’s Southern Decadence.
It’s the start of Saints season.
It’s the 1st Secondline of the season…
AND it’s International Overdose Awareness Day.
On August 31st, WWAV will be out in the streets – raising awareness about  the reality of overdose in our community, spreading information about how overdoses can be prevented, and collecting stories so we can pass Good Samaritan 911 legislation in the state of Louisiana.
Stay tuned for a full list of events and outreach opportunities for the day.
And please join us on August 15th for the Community Voices Project event that will kick this campaign off, “Staying Alive: Harm Reduction and Overdoes Prevention.”
For more information on how to recognize, treat and prevent a drug overdose, please check out this brochure from our International Overdose Awareness Day allies.
