Hopefully this will change the law completely. Crime Against Nature is the most ridiculous law Louisiana has. 40% of people on the sex offender list are there for Crime Against Nature, that’s just ignorant. I personally would like to know if any politician in Louisiana has ever had oral sex while in the state of Louisiana because if they have, under this law they should be convicted of Crime Against Nature and register as sex offenders too. If they say they never have, they’re liars.

I think this is wonderful. I work with indivduals who have been previously homeless. I have a woman in my program who spent 5 years in jail, has to register for life and is currently in jail because of failure to register. She is supposed to go every 3 months to re-register. She lives in Jefferson and it costs more there than in Orleans. These people will never find proper jobs or be able to lead normal lives. If you want to find a way to completely keep a person down, this is it. Put them on the sex offender list for trying to survive in the only way they knew how to. It was two consenting adults doing what they wanted except that it was for money and it wasn’t viginal intercouse.
