There are a lot of giving days this year!
But only one is dedicated to highlighting the work of LGBTQ organizations across the country. On May 15th from 12am-11:59 pm EST, the LGBTQ community and allies across the country will come together for 24 hours of generosity.
Give OUT Day is a new national initiative that engages and mobilizes hundreds of organizations and thousands of people on a single day across the country to give in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities. In addition, organizations receiving donations from the greatest number of unique donors will be in the running for additional cash prizes.
Why participate in Give OUT Day?
Give OUT Day is for everyone. Whether you identify as an LGBTQ person or ally, work for an LGBTQ nonprofit/group or not, everyone can participate! Our nation is at a historic moment as LGBTQ rights are gaining support and attention. Give OUT Day offers a chance for people of all backgrounds to come together nationally to express their support for LGBTQ equality and push forward more change.
How do I get involved?
- On Give OUT Day, donate to one or more organizations
- Get your family and friends to donate
- Volunteer with a participating organization
- Create a Fundraising page to help your organization
Want to find a way to support Women With a Vision’s work around LGBTQ rights and justice?
Your donations will help support our Community Voices Project, which was launched in the summer of 2013. Our program allows us to host community circles that bring together lesbian, bi, and transgender women to discuss the social justice and structural health issues that impact them. Your donations will also go toward supporting our Emerge Program, which includes Girls With a Pearl, our bimonthly social mixer and safe space for transgender women.
